On March 20, 2012 the Ambassador of Ukraine to China Yurii Kostenko held a meeting with the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Cheng Guoping.
The participants of the meeting shared views on the status and future developments of Ukrainian-Chinese cooperation in the context of agreements reached between the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and the President of China Hu Jintao during his state visit to Ukraine in June 2011. In particular, the achievement of USD 10 billion of the bilateral trade turnover during the last year was positively evaluated by the Sides.
The interlocutors exchanged opinions on specific issues for further implementation of the strategic partnership relations between Ukraine and China, including the intensification of political dialogue at the highest and high levels, achievements and future plans for development of trade and economic cooperation as well as implementation of large-scale projects in Ukraine with the assistance of China.
The results of bilateral activities on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and China were also discussed during the meeting.
