The legal stock of Ukraine-China interregional cooperation comprises 91 documents (bilateral agreements, memoranda and protocols on cooperation), which regulate the establishment of friendly and sister relations on the pattern levels as region-to-province, city-to-city, region-to-city, city-to-province.  

The last years a number of visits of Ukrainian regional and Chinese provincial representatives to China and Ukraine took place with the purpose to realize the potential of interregional cooperation. During those visits the package of cooperation bilateral agreements and MoUs in various fields including investments was signed, and the Ukraine-China business events with participation of business circles of regions were held. In particular, during 2017 the Embassy of Ukraine in China organized several events dedicated to popularization of export and investment potentials of Ukraine’s regions, as well as promotion of interregional cooperation with the provinces of China, namely:

January 2017, the delegation of Vinnitsa region headed by Andrii Gyzhko, First Deputy Regional Administration Chairman, paid the working visit to China. In particular, the meeting with the authorities of Ningbo, Zhejiang province took place during the visit. In frameworks of meeting the presentation of Vinnitsa region economic potential was made including the possibility to supply the agricultural products such as grains, sunflower oil, poultry meat, dried milk. There were also the discussions on the prospective cooperation in field of alternative energy.    

March 2017, the delegation of the Kyiv city state administration visited Beijing for the purpose of holding meetings with representatives of the Beijing office of protection of monuments of cultural heritage and National theatre of China.

November 2017, during the Ninth session of the trade Fair of Chinese investment abroad (COIFAIR-2017) representatives of the Vinnytsia and Dnipropetrovsk regions and Kharkiv and Kyiv presented the economic and investment potential in their regions.

At the end of November 2017 Nanchan sity (Jiangxi) visited the Odesa regional state administration to participate in the Tenth China Expo of green products and bilateral meetings with official and business circles is indicated in the Chinese city.

In December 2017 at the invitation of the head of Lviv regional state administration carried out a visit to Lviv representative the delegation of the Sichuan province. During the visit, the sides signed an Agreement on cooperation between the Lviv regional state administration and People's Government of Sichuan province (China).

Also in December 2017, had a working visit of the Chairman of Sumy regional state administration Mr.M.Klochko, Deputy Chairman of the Ternopil regional state administration O.Valov, Mayor of the Truskavets city A. Kulchytskyi and the Mayor of Khmelnystki city Mr. A.Semchyshyn.

In April 2018, the Chairman of the Sumy regional state administration Mr.M.Klochko visited Sichuan province to discuss issues of economic cooperation between the regions.
