On June 7, 2011 the Ambassador of Ukraine to the People’s Republic of China Yurii Kostenko visited the Head Office of the leading Chinese company CAMC Engineering (CAMCE) and held a meeting with its President Mrs. Luo Yan. The meeting was in the frameworks of the preparations to the state visit of the President of PRC Hu Jintao in Ukraine within the second decade of June.
CAMCE is specialized on the general contracting for the implementation of the projects both in China and abroad (countries of Africa, South America, South-Eastern Asia and CIS). During the first half of the year the representatives of CAMCE conducted the several rounds of negotiations with their Ukrainian partners and began to work on a number of prospective projects.
First is the project on the construction of the closed cycle pig-breeding complex with the annual capacity 24,000 heads and turn-key pig-slaughtering unit near village Borovka (Makarovsk district, Kyiv region). The Ukrainian partner under the project is the company «Polissya 2010» (the estimated value of projects is USD 30 million). The Ukraine and China parties intend to sign the contract on the implementation of the project.
The other project is the construction of hydroelectric power station, wind and solar power stations, the customer of which is the Ukrainian state corporation «UkrMontageSpetsBud». On this March the both parties signed the Memorandum on cooperation for this project mentioning that for the realization of the project it is planned to form the joint Ukraine-China company, registered in Ukraine, which will be the general contractor.
During the meeting Yurii Kostenko noted the importance of the development of such specific cooperation with Ukraine, informed the Chinese side about the possible schemes of the projects’ financing, which are currently used in Ukraine for their implementation with the participation of the foreign partners, as well as recommended the managers of CAMCE to take advantage of the visits to China the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea planned for this autumn to discuss the points concerning the realization of the existing projects and the initialization of the new ones in the fields of agriculture and alternative energy.
