November 27, 2010, Ukrainian Ambassador to China Yurii Kostenko took part at the presentation of a new masterpiece of famous Chinese artist, politician and public figure Mr.Yuan Xikun, held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The presentation of Yuan Xikun’s sculpture of Laozi, the founder of Taoism, was organized by the Chinese Fund for Peace Development & Friendship and the Chinese Laozi Research Society. The Vice-Chairman of the 9th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Mr. Wang Wenyuan, academician Mr. Chen Lianchan, a member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the CPPCC Mr.Yuan Xikun and other politicians, military leaders, public figures participated in the event.

During the ceremony a small copy of sculpture of the great philosopher of ancient China was gifted to the Embassy of Ukraine in China with wishes for world’s peace, development and harmony between the countries.
