On May 31, 2010 the Ambassador of Ukraine to the People’s Republic of China Yurii Kostenko held a meeting with Vice-Minister of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of China Niu Dun.

The participants of the meeting discussed a number of issues concerning the cooperation between Ukraine and China in the agricultural field particularly related to the conduction of the Second meeting of the Ukraine-China Working Group for Agricultural Cooperation on June 16, 2010 in Kyiv.

Both sides highly appreciated the level of cooperation between the agricultural authorities and scientific institutions of the countries, acknowledged the sustainable development of trade relations and approved the plans of investment cooperation development. The sides also exchanged views on the improvement and development of bilateral treaties and agreements.

During the meeting the certain issues related to the specific directions in agrarian cooperation in context of the preparations to the forthcoming state visit of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych in China have been discussed by the parties.
