On February 19, 2016 a memorial event, dedicated to the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred and the second anniversary of Crimea’s occupation, took place in the premises of the Embassy of Ukraine in the People’s Republic of China.
At the beginning with the particapation of the Ukrainian diplomats with their families, representatives of “Ukrainian House” in Beijing and the Ukrainian community the diplomats planted two fir trees as a symbol of the second anniversary of the tragic events in Ukraine.
The Ambassador of Ukraine Oleg Dyomin emphasized the unique feat of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred who gave their lives defending the ideals of democracy, defending human rights and the European future of Ukraine. He stressed that the Ukrainian society should join efforts to protect freedom and to implement reforms despite the current challenges that our country has to face.
During the event those present shared their own memories and opinions about the Revolution of Dignity.
The participants honored the memory of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred with a moment of silence and watched a topical film “Ukraine: for the future”.
