On September 26, 2017 in Marriott Hotel Banquet Hall in Beijing the Embassy of Ukraine in the People’s Republic of China held a reception on the occasion of the 26th Anniversary of the Independence of Ukraine.
The event was attended by the representatives of state and regional Chinese authorities, political, business, scientific and cultural circles, journalists and foreign diplomats, accredited in Beijing, as well as the Ukrainian community in China.
In his speech Ambassador Oleg Dyomin informed about the results of the Ukrainian Government’s ongoing reforms, both in economic and investment spheres, as well as about progress in eurointegration sphere. Special attention was paid to the Ukraine’s continuing efforts to defend its independence and freedom in the fight against the Russian Federation’s military aggression. He thanked the Chinese Side for its unreserved support of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty and expressed confidence in the further active and mutually beneficial cooperation with China.
In his turn, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of PRC Li Huilai stressed that China highly values relationship with Ukraine, in particular as an important participant of “One Belt, One Road” initiative. He also underlined that this year our countries marked a significant date - the 25th anniversary of establishing of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and the People's Republic of China. Assistant Minister noted that intensification of friendly exchanges at all levels and in various directions, including people-to-people contacts and deepened practical cooperation, is strengthening traditional friendship between the two countries and adding more substance to our strategic partnership.
The quests could enjoy wonderful performance of classical and Ukrainian works by musicians from Ukraine and China, the bright works of Ukrainian painters H.Nazarenko, K.Biletina, K.Datsyuk, A.Didenko, I.Kalyuzhna, as well as photos of the project "Ukraine - China: friendship in the faces”.
A traditional wedding ceremony and bride’s dressing, performed by representatives of the Ukrainian community of Beijing, was a colourful addition to the event.
The Embassy prepared for Ukraine’s friends not only national meals and drinks, but also thematic printed materials, as well as a special edition of the magazine VITWO about the tourist potential of our state.
