The opening ceremony of the Ukrainian artist M.Murphenko’s oil paintings and drawings exhibition organized by the Embassy of Ukraine to China in cooperation with the Committee on Culture of the central district of Dongcheng of the Chinese capital was held in Beijing on November 29.
Addressing the participants of the opening ceremony the Ambassador of Ukraine to China Yuriy Kostenko pointed out that the good tailored exposition gives the fine arts’ lovers a chance to rethink their modern arts’ impressions and to extend culture and art exchanges. It could cement friendship and creative interaction between the artists.
The Head of the Committee on Culture of the Central district of Dongcheng Mr. Wei Ruifeng expressed gratitude to the Embassy for its cultural initiative and expectations on further consolidation of contacts between mature and young artists of the two countries.
The exhibition will continue until December 4, 2011, and presents more then forty paintings and drawings of the Ukrainian fine arts’ talent, most of them devoted to skillfully created reflection of the spiritual life of his fellow Ukrainians and of himself.
The exhibition was held in the framework of events commemorating the 20th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Ukraine and China.
