Honoring the 85rd anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine the Ukrainian diplomats, their family members and representatives of the Ukrainian community in Beijing held an mourning ceremony "Light a Candle of Memory" on September 5, 2018 at the Orthodox Chapel located at the Embassy’s premises. The ceremony was a part of the commemorative action worldwide.

In memory of the innocent children who died in times of manmade Great Famine organized by the criminal regime of Stalin, the participants observed a one-minute silence and lit a symbolic candle.

Booklets on one the most horrible crimes of the XX century were offered to the participants in the event.
