On 30 June 2020, the Ambassador of Ukraine Serhii Kamyshev met with Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Le Yuchen at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China. At the meeting the parties discussed a wide range of topical issues of the Ukrainian-Chinese relations.

In particular, cooperation between the two countries in counteracting the COVID-19 pandemic was discussed. Ambassador Kamyshev thanked the Chinese partners for the humanitarian aid provided to Ukraine and the assistance of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in facilitating air transportation of the humanitarian cargo to Ukraine.
Vice Minister Le Yucheng expressed his support for the Ukraine proposed joint steps aimed at intensifying high-level Ukrainian-Chinese contacts and resuming the practice of exchanging visits.
During the meeting, the diplomats have also exchanged their information on the domestic political situation in their countries, outlined the prospects for cooperation in the framework of the international organizations, as well as in the context of Ukraine's participation in the 3rd Shanghai Import Expo (5-10 November 2020). Both sides expressed their mutual satisfaction with the current state and development perspectives of the strategic partnership and practical cooperation between Ukraine and China.
