As part of systematic efforts to promote trade and economic cooperation with Ukraine, on October 10, 2025, the Embassy of Ukraine in the People’s Republic of China held “Economy of Ukraine: Current Challenges and New Opportunities” business forum in Tianjin. The event brought together over 60 representatives of industry and business associations, as well as private companies from Tianjin and other regions of China.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the PRC, Mr. Olexander Nechytaylo, sent his greetings to the participants, hoping that this forum would lay the foundation for new success stories that further strengthen friendship and partnership between Ukraine and China.

During the event, Mr. Andrii Serhiienko, Minister-Counsellor on Economic Affairs of the Embassy of Ukraine, presented an overview of the main trends of Ukraine’s economic development under wartime conditions. Embassy officials also delivered presentations on government support for foreign investors in Ukraine, current economic trends in agriculture, healthcare, construction, and information technology, as well as the opportunities offered by the Ukrainian international platform “NAZOVNI.”

Government representatives of Ukrainian regions also joined the forum online, including Victor Hradivskyi, Deputy Head of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, and Oleksandr Turcheniak, Deputy Head of the Cherkasy Regional State Administration. They presented promising investment projects and the economic potential of their regions.

Representatives of Chinese enterprises had the opportunity to share their own experience in developing cooperation with Ukrainian partners, as well as to participate in teh discussion with diplomats of the Embassy and representatives of Ukrainian regions. Overall, the event demonstrated a strong interest from the Chinese business community in developing and expanding cooperation with Ukraine, despite existing challenges and risks.
