On October 23, the head of the Trade and Economic Section of the Embassy of Ukraine in China met with the Head of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Harbin Committee. The Chinese delegation included top managers of both the Chamber itself and the China Chamber of International Commerce, the Kharkiv Oblast Office in Heilongjiang Province.
The main topic of the meeting was to elaborate on the initiative to hold a Trade and Economic Conference between Ukraine and China in Beijing in cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine at the end of November 2020. The purpose of this event is to create online and offline B2B platform for promoting business cooperation between Ukrainian and Chinese entrepreneurs.
During the meeting, the Chinese participants were informed about the current state of trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and China, defined by positive trend of bilateral trade in 2019 and the first half of 2020. The significant potential for cooperation between the two countries was also in the focus of the meeting.
On the part of the Harbin Chamber, the high interest in cooperating with Ukraine was emphasized, both at the level of enterprises (about 32 Harbin companies have ties to Ukraine) and at the level of business associations as well as higher education institutions.
