On March 11, the Embassy of Ukraine in China and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in China jointly organized a cultural event "Together for Peace" to support Ukraine. The event was coordinated by the Polish Institute of Culture in Beijing. Over 200 guests, including foreign diplomats, Ukrainian and Polish diaspora, foreign mass media and Chinese artists took part in the event.
With a minute of silence, all guests commemorated those who passed away as a result of the ongoing war in Ukraine and also expressed unanimous support for Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
In the welcoming speech, Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine Ms Zhanna Leshchynska stressed the high unity of the Ukrainian people in these difficult times and thanked the international partners for their solidarity with Ukraine. She emphasized that the crushing for the Russian Federation results of the vote at the special meeting of the UN General Assembly obviously demonstrated the unwavering support of the nations around the globe to the Ukraine's dedication for peace. Ms Zhanna Leshchynska expressed a sincere gratitude to the representatives of all world countries which are supporting Ukraine to resist Russian aggression. A special thanks went to the Polish state leaders and the entire Polish people for their vital assistance to the Ukrainians.
The guests were much impressed by the solo exhibition of the works by the famous Chinese avant-garde artist Huang Rui entitled "Lack of Peace" and the exhibition of anti-war posters presented by the EUNIC China Cluster members, as well as by the Ukrainian folk and classical melodies performed by Polish pianist Michał Ciesielski, Polish violinist Aleksandra Denga and Ukrainian bandura player Mariana Klymukh.
