On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's Independence, the official Opening Ceremony of Mykola Popov Arts Exhibition “My Ukraine” was held at The New Silk Road Art Gallery on August 25. The event was organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in China with the support from UGallery and the China National Society for the Promotion of Culture and Art. The exhibition presents 75 paintings created by the artist during different life periods in different styles using different techniques.
In her speech, the Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine to PRC Zhanna Leshchynska emphasized the special uniqueness and symbolic significance of the exhibition for the further development of cultural and artistic exchanges between Ukraine and China, as the exhibition is held in the year of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine anniversary as well as the the 10th anniversary of strategic partnership between the two countries.

Visitors of the exhibition are able to admire Mykola Popov’s oil and lithography paintings from the series “My Childhood”, “My Shevchenko”, “My Kyiv” and “Winter Sedniv”. These works not only convey the beauty and uniqueness of the nature of Ukraine or depict events in the Ukrainian history, but also demonstrate the skill and professionalism of the artist, as well as the high level of development the Ukrainian school of painting.
