On 13 September 2025, a unique event — “DNA Ukraine: Cuisine and Culture” — took place at the JinCai restaurant in Tianjin, co-organized by the Embassy of Ukraine in China and JinCai Restaurant.
Over 70 invited guests — including representatives of local Chinese authorities, VIPs, food enthusiasts, and popular bloggers — gathered to experience the authentic tastes of Ukraine and immerse themselves in its cultural atmosphere. The evening started at 17:00 with interactive check-in and cultural activities, followed by warm welcome remarks by the Embassy representative and JinCai founder.
Guests enjoyed culinary symbols of Ukraine: borscht, holubtsi (stuffed cabbage rolls), varenyky (dumplings), deruny (potato pancakes), uzvar (traditional dried fruit drink), and more.
The menu was developed in close collaboration between the Ukrainian side and the JinCai chefs to preserve the “authentic taste” while ensuring professional execution.
In addition to the culinary journey, the evening featured a quiz and Ukrainian songs, transporting the audience into the heart of Ukrainian traditions. The night concluded with a group photo and informal networking, giving guests an opportunity to share impressions and make new connections.
The Embassy of Ukraine in China and JinCai Restaurant expressed their sincere gratitude to all participants for their interest in Ukrainian culture and support of the idea that “gastronomy knows no borders.” Special thanks were extended to Obolon and Rud for providing authentic Ukrainian products for the evening.
We also thank the volunteers of the Ukrainian community in China for their active assistance, support, and joyful spirit, which made this event even more memorable.
