On February 20, 2012 the Ambassador of Ukraine to China Yurii Kostenko held a press-conference with representatives of leading Chinese mass media. The event was dedicated to the before time fulfillment of the task of the leaders of Ukraine and China to bring in 2012 bilateral trade to 10 billion USD.

During the event the Chinese journalists were informed that, according to the General Customs Administration of P.R.China for the first time in the history of Ukrainian-Chinese bilateral relations, trade turnover between Ukraine and China in 2011 was 10 billion 411 million 077 thousand USD that is 34.7% more than the figure in 2010. The prospects for further development of trade and economic cooperation were clearly outlines by the Ukrainian Ambassador to China.

The Ambassador of Ukraine answered numerous questions of Chinese media representatives including the factors that contributed to the proof of bilateral trade to a specified level of specific bilateral projects implemented today and also to be planned to implement in the future.
