On April 11, 2011 the Deputy Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Serhii Kamyshev held a meeting with the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Cheng Guoping.
The participants of the meeting discussed the current state and the prospective of further development of Ukraine-China relations.
Chinese diplomat expressed his satisfaction as to the present level of bilateral interaction, especially after the state visit to China of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych last autumn, in the framework of which the two sides decided to transform the bilateral relations into strategic partnership. Our task today is to implement the decision of the Heads of our two states, said Cheng Guoping.
The sides also paid attention to the preparation for Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov visiting China and Vice Premier of China Zhang Dejiang visiting Ukraine, both visits being an important stage in the preparation for the state visit to Ukraine of the President of China Hu Jintao.
The People’s Deputy Oleh Malich and the Ambassador of Ukraine to China Yurii Kostenko took part in the meeting.
