On November 22, 2014 at the Embassy of Ukraine to the People’s Republic of China was held a sorrowful event to commemorate victims of Holodomor famine in which Ukrainian diplomats with their families, as well as representatives of the Ukrainian community and students in Beijing took part. After the Ambassador of Ukraine to China Oleg Dyomin took his speech about tragic events of the past, was proclaimed a ceremony of lowering the National Flag of Ukraine and moment of silence. Participants of the requiem ceremony lighted up candles on the memorial symbolic cross and laid flowers.

      Every participant received a number of books dedicated to the tragic events in Ukraine in 1932-1933 and a candle from Kiyiv Pechersk Lavra, which at 16.00 local time will be light up to honor the memory of the Holodomor-genocide victims of 1932-1933 in Ukraine .
