On November 10, Ukrainian Ambassador to China Yurii Kostenko, according to the Decree of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, presented the Order of Merit of III grade to Chinese academician Mr.Guan Qiao at the Beijing Aeronautical Manufacturing Technology Research Institute. Distinguished Chinese scientist was conferred the honorable award of Ukraine for his accomplishments in promotion Sino-Ukrainian relations, in particular for his long term cooperation with Ukrainian scientists in the field of electric welding.

Accepting the award, Mr.Guan Qiao, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, expressed his deep gratitude to the President of Ukrainian and the Ukrainian Government for the high appraisal of his fruitful cooperation with the Institute of Electric Welding of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.”
