On November 2, Presentation of poetry book in Chinese and Ukrainian languages "Breath of China" by famous Ukrainian poetess Liudmyla Skyrda was held at the Hall of Peace of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries. Introducing the book by Ukrainian poetess the Head of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, a famous Chinese politician and a poet Mr. Chen Haosu, stated that Sino-Ukrainian bilateral relations have gained a new momentum in recent years, and the first in history of our bilateral relations book of modern Ukrainian poetry published in Beijing is it’s perfect evidence.

During his speech, Ukrainian Ambassador to China Mr. Yurii Kostenko stressed the mutual efforts of China and Ukraine towards cooperation, including cultural cooperation on the basis of strategic partnership. Poetess Liudmyla Skyrda expressed her sincere gratitude to book’s translator – famous Chinese translator and writer Mr. Gao Mang and painter Mr. Li Yi, shared her plans for future creative work. Famous Chinese poets and Beijing Univesity students recited poems of Liudmyla Skyrda in Chinese language, Ukrainian artists performed Ukrainian folk songs.

In the end of the poetry celebration ceremony the Head of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Mr. Chen Haosu read his poem “The Power of Ukraine”, written especially for this presentation.”
