On 10 March 2016, Mr. Oleg Dyomin, Ambassador of Ukraine to the People’s Republic of China, held a meeting with Mr. Zhou Li, the Deputy Director of the Department of International Affairs of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the former Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine. In the course of the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged their views on a wide range of topical issues of Ukraine – China relations.
The two sides expressed their mutual satisfaction at the high level of strategic partnership relations between Ukraine and China, and discussed the timetable of bilateral visits for this year, including those to be paid in the context of inter-parliamentary and inter-party contacts. At the meeting, new prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation were also addressed, in particular as regards Ukraine’s participation in the realization of “One Belt – One Road” Chinese initiative.
On the request of the Chinese side, Ambassador Dyomin presented in details the latest political internal situation in Ukraine, made comments on the state of implementation of the Minsk agreements, as well as the current situation in eastern Ukraine.
