Commemorating the 67th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic war H.E. Mr. Yuriy Kostenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to the China, on May 9, 2012, took part in grand flower wreath laying ceremony to the Memorial of Soviet soldiers perished in the battle for liberation of the city from Japanese militarists in August 1945.

Mr. Bao Manda, mayor of Chifeng city, representatives of the municipal community, staff of the Embassy of Ukraine to China, local war veterans and school pupils took part in the event. Ukrainian Ambassador and Chifeng city mayor have also laid flowers to the Monument of martyrs of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.

During his visit to the municipality Mr. Yuriy Kostenko had a special meeting with its mayor to discuss issues on the development of interregional, trade and economic, cultural, art and education cooperation of Chifeng city with its potential Ukrainian partners.

At the end of the visit to Chifeng city the Ukrainian Ambassador gave interview to municipal television.
