On 8th of May 2012, H.E. Mr. Yurii Kostenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to China, has met Dr. Huang Jiefu, Vice-Minister of Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China. During this meeting the ways of activisation of Ukraine-China cooperation in the fields of medicine were discussed in the framework of the agreements reached in June 2011 by H.E. Mr. Viktor Yanukovych, President of Ukraine, and H.E. Mr. Hu Jintao, President of China.

Both sides discussed conrete questions related to preparation of the First meeting of the Subcommission on cooperation in the field of medicine of the Ukraine-China Intergovernmental Commission on cooperation to be held in Kyiv on 11th May 2012. The meeting will be organised during a visit to Ukraine of the official Chinese delegation headed by Dr. Huang Jiefu, Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Health of the People’s Republic of China, from 10th to 14th May 2012.

It is expected that major topics of the bilateral cooperation agenda could be questions on creation in Ukraine of a Medical Diagnostic Center of Traditional Chinese Medicine and invitation of Chinese lecturers of traditional medicine in the Ukrainian medical universities.
