Sumy State University (SumDU)is located in Sumy city in the North-East of Ukraine. Its history began in 1948. Today, SumDU is a leading university of a classical type with the IV (the highest) accreditation level.
The University currently serves about 14,000 students who are pursuing bachelor and master degrees in 54 majors and 22 fields of knowledge. About 1600 foreign students represent almost 50 countries worldwide.
SumDU is included in Global Research University Profiles (GRUP) by Shanghai Ranking. SSU is also included in the directory of world’s best universities by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
If necessary, citizens of foreign countries can study for one year at the Preparatory Department for the program of preparation for admission to higher education institutions, which includes Ukrainian and Russian languages, as well as other subjects necessary for further study in the main specialties.
In SumDU also works "Confucius Class", in which students learn Chinese language and culture.
