On September 9 Trade and Economic Section of the Embassy of Ukraine in China hosted Ukrainian Investment Forum for the Chinese businesses within the annual China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), which was held this year in an offline format.

During the Forum Embassy’s speakers delivered presentations on investment climate, agricultural sector, infrastructure and tourism potential of Ukraine. The speakers specifically focused on the advantages of Ukrainian market for the Chinese investors. The participants of the event were also addressed by Olha Mahaletska, the Head of Office of National Investment Council, who spoke on investment advantages of Ukrainian economy.   

During the Q&A session the participants of the Forum addressed their questions to Embassy’s speakers on the presented material, which allowed to establish the points of interests for investment activities in Ukraine for Chinese businesses (participation in the projects of construction of infrastructure and energy generating facilities).

This year’s CIFTIS was opened by the President Xi Jinping. The Fair is a core event and a major platform for the international trade in services. The organizers of the Fair are the Ministry of Commerce of China and Beijing People’s Government with the support from the World Trade Organization, UN Conference on Trade and Development and Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
