Addressing those present, Ambassador of Ukraine H.E. Olexander Nechytaylo noted the resilience of the Ukrainian people in repelling the unprovoked and illegal Russian aggression, which has shattered peace in Europe and profoundly affected global stability. Ambassador Nechytaylo also emphasized that Ukraine seeks peace - a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace - based on the principles of the Charter of the United Nations: sovereignty, territorial integrity and respect for internationally recognized borders.

Olexander Nechytaylo also expressed deep gratitude to all international partners who, throughout these challenging years, have provided consistent political, military, financial, and humanitarian support to Ukraine.

Ambassador of the European Union to China H.E. Jorge Toledo, who attended the event as a guest of honor, for his part noted that the the European Union is committed to ensuring a just and lasting peace for Ukraine, standing with Ukraine for as long as necessary.

The commemorative event concluded with a flag hoisting ceremony.
