On 3 December 2025, Ambassador of Ukraine to the People’s Republic of China Olexander Nechytaylo held a meeting in Beijing with the Chinese Vice Minister for Science and Technology Chen Jiachang. At the meeting, the current state and prospects of the two countries’ science and technology cooperation were discussed.
The Ambassador of Ukraine emphasized the importance of scientific and technical interaction between Ukraine and the P.R. of China, focusing on the contribution of Ukrainian scientists to the modernization process of China in the 1990s and 2000s.
Noting China's achievements in scientific, industrial and innovative development in recent decades, especially the country's leading global positions in the field of artificial intelligence and quantum technologies, the Ambassador expressed Ukraine's interest in continuing scientific and technical cooperation with China based on 30 years of experience in such interaction.
Vice Minister Chen Jiachang stated that since the signing of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Scientific and Technical Cooperation in 1992, Ukraine and the P.R. of China have already implemented over a hundred joint research projects. The Vice Minister reconfirmed the P.R. of China's willingness and openness for furthering mutually beneficial cooperation.
