In the framework of the visit to Yunnan and Sichuan provinces the Ambassador of Ukraine to China Olexander Nechytaylo held a series of meetings with the representatives of the regional authorities, local enterprises, education institutions and the Ukrainian community.

During the meeting with the leadership of the Yunnan Foreign Affairs Office both sides discussed the prospects of renewal the cooperation with the Ukrainian regions and areas of mutually beneficial cooperation. Apart of this, the attention was paid to the humanitarian situation in Ukraine and the country’s position on achieving a just and lasting peace.

At the meeting with the President of the Yunnan Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Ukrainian economic and investment potential was presented. Also, the parties discussed prospects of developing bilateral economic cooperation.

The Ambassador of Ukraine also held meetings with the numbers of business representatives. At the meetings Ambassador discussed possible cooperation between Ukrainian and Chinese companies in the fields of agriculture and energy.

Also, during the working visit, the Ambassador visited Yunnan Normal University, where he held a meeting with Ukrainian students and the president of the university. Possible ways of further cooperation in the field of education and science were discussed.

A separate part of the visit was dedicated to meetings with Ukrainian communities in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces. Discussions covered everyday issues, consular support, interaction with local authorities, as well as joint cultural and humanitarian initiatives.
