During the meeting with the Vice Mayor of Sanya, Ms. Yin Chenlin, the parties discussed cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, investment, healthcare, tourism, as well as education and science. Both sides confirmed their mutual interest in continuing dialogue and strengthening cooperation.
Following the meeting with the leadership of the Hainan Foreign Affairs Office, priorities of regional cooperation were discussed, including the Hainan Free Trade Port project and prospects for interregional cooperation with Ukraine. Particular attention was paid to the humanitarian situation in Ukraine and the country’s position on achieving a just and lasting peace.
The Ambassador also familiarized himself with the capabilities of Haixin Port, a key element of the province’s logistics infrastructure and the Hainan Free Trade Port project, which offers preferential conditions for export and import operations.
During the meeting with the President of the Hainan Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Ukraine’s economic and investment potential was presented. The parties discussed prospects for developing Ukrainian-Chinese cooperation in the fields of green energy, healthcare, and tourism. They also addressed the issue of facilitating the participation of Ukrainian businesses in the China International Consumer Products Expo (13–18 April 2026), one of China’s five largest international exhibitions.
A separate part of the visit was dedicated to meetings with Ukrainians living and working in Hainan. Discussions covered everyday issues, consular support, interaction with local authorities, as well as joint cultural and humanitarian initiatives.
The visit of Ambassador Olexander Nechytaylo to Hainan Province reaffirmed strong interest in developing practical cooperation and further strengthening Ukrainian-Chinese collaboration.
