The Minister of Defence of Ukraine Andrii Taran has signed a document revoking the Order as of 2016 which regulated the Ministry of Defence Reforms Project Office activities.
The Reforms Project Office was the consultancy and advisory entity.
The Ministry of Defence is the central body of executive and military authority.
And nowadays more than ever the leadership of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces exert their best efforts to implement reforms at the strategic level as well as in the areas of the human resources management and the defense industry.
These three issues have been identified as of highest priority to be confirmed by the United States Ministry of Defence as of progress in implementing the defence reform in Ukraine.
In this regard, by the order of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Andrii Taran, Defence Policy Directorate was put into operation to implement aim and goals of the defence reform in Ukraine.
It should be noted that the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is working closely on these issues with strategic advisers — representatives of NATO defence agencies. Every adviser has considerable experience of service and leadership positions in the Armed Forces of their countries. This cooperation is crucial to implement reforms within the Directorate’s activities.
Defence Policy Directorate can be joined by anyone who is willing to participate in the defence agency reform.
Ministry of Defense of Ukraine invites all members of the former Reforms Project Office to participate in the open contest for public service in order to occupy the permanent appointment within the Directorate.
Considering the ongoing hybrid and hidden aggression against independent Ukraine, in the information space among others, one should trust only the primary and official source of information.
Despite tough restrictions during quarantine, the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Andrii Taran continues to actively communicate with his foreign counterparts.
For example, the U.S. Secretary of Defence Dr. Mark T. Esper in his personal Twitter posts talks about a comprehensive support of Minister Taran and even prompts to speed up reform process activities.
During the communication of the Minister of Defence of Ukraine Andrii Taran with his Canadian counterpart, the Minister of National Defence of Canada Harjit Sajjan welcomed the Ukrainian defence reforms according to NATO standards and assured of support for Ukraine’s accession to NATO Enhanced Opportunity Program (EOP), as well as unlocking the NATO-Ukraine Commission.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Ruslan Khomchak has communicated with Chairman of the Military Committee of NATO, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach regarding the NATO Military Committee meeting in Ukraine.
The situation is that, while the MOD’s strategic advisers not only support the reform of the defence agency, but also wish to accelerate the process, some people expresses a completely different point of view. The question is — who do they work for?
And did not the time have come for the 6th year of Ukraine’s armed confrontation with the aggressor for these so-called experts, to determine their attitude towards the national security issues of the country?
The leadership of the Ministry of Defence and the Armed Forces of Ukraine express their full gratitude to all non-indifferent parties who are participating in a constructive discussion of the implementation of the defence reform.
There is clear understanding that the only way to build strong and self-sustainable Armed Forces lays through the close cooperation with the NATO allies.
